Alex Deviny is a children’s author and illustrator. She worked for many years as a Primary School teacher in the UK before deciding to try her hand at writing children’s books.
Well-being is really important to Alex so she studied for a qualification in counselling to ensure that she was constructing her stories in the best way possible.
Alex knows that many teachers use books to introduce topics such as friendship, change, kindness, bullying or loss to the children in their class and she keeps this in mind when writing her books. She also draws on her teaching experience to suggest activities based on her stories.
Most of all, though, Alex wants children to enjoy her stories and to develop their love of reading and books.
